چکیده
In this paper, the eigenfunction expansion method combined with local contact models are presented to analyze repeated impact behaviors between sphere and beam. The simulations verified experimental results of a simply-supported beam struck 91 times by sphere. order clarify validity solve transverse impacts on beams, simulation spring-mass also compared experiments. It shows that appropriate models, can predict agreeable results, especially (including accumulated permanent indentation, coefficient restitution separation velocity sphere) representing energy dissipations, due consideration structural vibrations, behaviors, as well wave propagations. comparisons model show propagations important for which cannot be neglected in flexible structure impacts. studies analysis response structures.

Size Effect on Free Transverse Vibration of Cracked Nano-beams using Couple Stress Theory
In this paper, the transverse vibration of cracked nano-beam has been studied based on modified couple stress theory. Crack is modeled by a rotational spring that creates a discontinuity. Frequency equations of cracked nano-beam with some typical boundary conditions are derived and the frequency parameter for different crack positions, crack parameter and length scale parameters value are calcu...
متن کاملTransverse Vibration for Non-uniform Timoshenko Nano-beams
In this paper, Eringen’s nonlocal elasticity and Timoshenko beam theories are implemented to analyze the bending vibration for non-uniform nano-beams. The governing equations and the boundary conditions are derived using Hamilton’s principle. A Generalized Differential Quadrature Method (GDQM) is utilized for solving the governing equations of non-uniform Timoshenko nano-beam for pinned-pinned...
متن کاملThe impacts of repeated cold exposure on insects.
Insects experience repeated cold exposure (RCE) on multiple time scales in natural environments, yet the majority of studies of the effects of cold on insects involve only a single exposure. Three broad groups of experimental designs have been employed to examine the effects of RCE on insect physiology and fitness, defined by the control treatments: 'RCE vs cold', which compares RCE with consta...

Work supported by the U.S. Department of Energy under contract No. DE-AC02-76CH03000. [email protected] Abstract Transverse e-p instability in the proton rings could be damped by increase a beam density and the rate of secondary particles generation above a threshold level, corresponded a decrease of the unstable wavelength below a transverse beam size. In high current proton rings as LANSCE PS...
